◊ Beliefs

1. We believe that the Bible is God's word; that it was written by men who were verbally and plenary inspired by God; and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of which it speaks and is inerrant in the original manuscripts. II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:19-21



2. We believe there is one true and living personal, self-existent, infinite and sovereign God, eternally existing in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These being the same in essence but distinct in personality and function. I Corinthians 8:6, Deuteronomy 6:4, II Corinthians 13:14, Matthew 3:16-17



3. We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayers, and that He saves from sin and death all that come to Him through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, Matthew 6:9-13



4.We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal and only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, of virgin birth, sinless in His life, making atonement for the sins of the world by His death. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His visible, pre millennial return to the world. Matthew 1:22-23, John 1:1, 2, 14, I Corinthians 15:3-6, Colossians 1:15-20, Matthew 24:30-31



5. We believe in the personality and the deity of the Holy Spirit who has come to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and to regenerate, indwell, sanctify and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. Romans 8:14, 16, 26, 27, I Corinthians 6:19, John 16:7-8, I Peter 1:2



6. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God but that in Adam's sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and that man is totally depraved, and of himself, unable to remedy his lost condition. We believe, therefore, that those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, by grace through faith, become members of God's family, the bride of Christ, the true Church and will rejoice forever in God's presence. Those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour will be separated to everlasting conscious punishment. Romans 3:21-25, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:19, Revelation 20:11-15



7. We believe in the Church - a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that a local church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ and that God has laid upon those churches the task of proclaiming to a lost world the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Saviour, and the enthroning of Him as Lord and Master. I Corinthians 1:2, Ephesians 1:22-23, II Corinthians 5:18-20, Ephesians 4:11-13



8. We have the privilege of representing Christ in all places and at all times. We believe Christians are responsible to maintain a lifestyle which brings glory to God and exhibits modesty to man. We believe this two-fold principle funnels down to very practical areas of life, such as the Christian's speech, dress, mannerisms, and activities. We believe the above standard applies to every Board Member, Staff Member, and volunteer of New Life Camp, both at and away from camp. I Corinthians 10:31, Phlippians 4:5, Ephesians 4:29 Sex is a wonderful gift from God given exclusively to a husband and a wife. It is an expression of their deep, intimate and unconditional love for each other. Genesis 4:1; I Corinthians 7:1-5; Hebrews 13:4 We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. Genesis 2:24; Genesis 19:5,13; Genesis 26:8-9, Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1, 6:9; I Thessalonians 4:1-8, Hebrews 13:4



9. We believe in obedience to the Biblical commands to separate ourselves unto God from worldliness and ecclesiastical apostasy. I Thessalonians 1:9, 10; I Timothy 6:3-5, Romans 16:17; II John 9-11

What the Bible tells us:

+ Your heart tends to run from God and rebel against Him. The bible calls this "sin". Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." KJV

+ Yet God loves you and wants to save you from sin; to offer you a new life of hope. John 10:10 says, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." KJV

+ To give you this gift of salvation, God makes a way through His son, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." KJV

+ You received this gift by faith alone. Ephesians 2:8,9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

+ Faith is a decision of your heart demonstrated by the actions of your life. Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." KJV

+ If you are choosing right now to believe Jesus died for your sins and to receive new life through Him, pray a prayer similar to this (it's not the prayer that saves you - it's the faith and trust you put in Jesus and the evidence of a changed life.) and thank Him for your new life:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died in my place for payment of my sins. I now accept Your offer of eternal life. Thank You for forgiving me of all my sin. Thank You for my new life. From this day forward, I choose to follow You.
